DOLL FACTS

Prettie Girls dolls were designed by Stacey McBride-Irby, former Mattel designer who created the Barbie So In Style line of dolls. The first line of Prettie Girls were 16″ dolls launched by the One World Doll Project company in 2013, retailing for $23.94 each. The company was eventually bought by Tonner.

“Prettie” stands for Positive, Respectful, Enthusiastic, Truthful, Talented, Inspiring, and Excellent. The concept behind One World Doll Project was to produce “diverse dolls that would make a difference in the lives of young girls of many cultural backgrounds.”
